Ali Hussain - Kelsey-Seybold Administrative Fellow

Ali Hussain

2021 - University of Houston – Clear Lake, MHA/MBA

Ali Hussain is a born-and-raised Houstonian who has been a part of the healthcare industry for the past six years. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Business at the University of Houston - Main Campus. Prior to this fellowship, Ali was a Project Intern with Baylor College of Medicine at Texas Children's Hospital. In this role, his projects focused on protocol implementation, leading the Fellowship Editorial Board Committee, and the responsibilities of CME Coordinator. At the same time, Ali also completed two internships at Houston Methodist. While there, Ali was first an Administrative Intern with the Volunteer Services Department. He conducted projects involved with new cloud software implementation, process improvement, and program development. Following this, he was selected to become a Project Specialist Intern with the DeBakey CV Education team in the Heart and Vascular Center. In this role, Ali worked on projects related to social media analytics, business venture opportunities, and intern recruitment.


Loan Lam - Kelsey-Seybold Administrative Fellow

Loan is a native Texan who received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, with focus on Management Information Systems and minor in Marketing. She has an extensive background in Data Analytics, Information Management, and Consulting. Her healthcare experience spans across five years in Finance, Analytics, and Business Intelligence at Texas Children's Pediatrics and Texas Children's Health Plan, both within the Texas Children's system. In these roles, she focused on Value Based Care, Patient Access, Business Operations, Finance, and Quality and Outcomes.


Shannon Patilla - Kelsey-Seybold Administrative Fellow

2020 – Colorado State University, MHA

Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Promotion from Colorado State University. While earning her degree, Shannon obtained 4 years of volunteer experience and 3 subsequent years of professional experience at Children's Hospital Colorado - one of the nation's top pediatric hospitals. During this time, Shannon was involved in a variety of projects, ranging from philanthropy and patient satisfaction to operations and quality improvement. This exposure enabled her to leverage and grow her leadership and project management skills, as well as further navigate the intricacies of clinical and administrative collaborative efforts to improve patient care.

The program allows young careerist to be exposed to various leadership styles, decision making process, and organizational strategies.
